Terms & Conditions

Use of Yancey County Busted Mugshots means agreement to these terms. If these conditions are not acceptable, do not use the pages or their search tools.

This is a private reference service with no government affiliation. It does not provide an FCRA-covered service, and neither this service nor its advertising partners offers consumer reports or screening services.

What This Service Is

This is a privately operated reference site for finding official Yancey County and North Carolina records resources. It stores no official jail, court, or corrections records and cannot confirm custody, release a person, file a court document, or contact an agency for a visitor.

It points readers toward the Yancey sheriff’s inmate-information route, the Yancey court location, and other public sources. A third-party tool linked from a page is controlled by that provider.

Acceptable Use

Visitors agree to use the pages lawfully and with respect for other people.

  • Do not break a law or misuse an official source while using the service.
  • Do not stalk, threaten, harass, or target a person named in a record.
  • Do not use the material for a prohibited FCRA-covered decision.
  • Do not gain or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the pages, data, or vendor systems.
  • Do not run bots, scrapers, or bulk collection tools against the service.
  • Do not disrupt availability or interfere with another visitor’s use.

FCRA Limits

Yancey County Busted Mugshots is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not create background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports, and neither it nor its advertising partners offers a screening service. Users agree not to use any material for an FCRA-covered purpose, including:

  • hiring, firing, or another employment decision;
  • tenant or housing screening;
  • creditworthiness or insurance pricing;
  • licensing, permits, or government-program eligibility;
  • any other use regulated by the FCRA.

Links to Other Services

Pages may link to the county sheriff, detention and court systems, North Carolina corrections, legal resources, federal locators, news publishers, and outside search services. The service does not endorse or control their content, privacy practices, fees, security, or uptime. Review the destination’s terms before submitting information.

No Warranties

All material is provided “as is.” No warranty is made about:

  • accuracy, completeness, or current status;
  • continuous availability;
  • absence of bugs, errors, or security weaknesses;
  • the depth or reliability of results from a partner tool.

Custody labels, court records, public pages, and agency contacts can change without notice. Nothing here is an official statement from the Yancey sheriff, Burnsville Police Department, a court, or another government body.

Liability Limit

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators and their partners are not liable for damages arising from access to, inability to access, or reliance on the service or a linked provider.

Indemnification

A user agrees to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from that user’s conduct, use of the service, violation of these terms, or misuse of a linked record.

Ownership of Materials

Text, graphics, logos, layout, and code belong to Yancey County Busted Mugshots or its content partners. Copying, distributing, modifying, or republishing them requires written permission unless the law provides otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when posted on the service. Continued use after posting means the revised terms apply.

Access May End

Access may be limited, suspended, or blocked at any time, with or without notice and for any reason, including misuse or technical protection.

North Carolina Law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of North Carolina. To the extent a dispute may be filed, it belongs in a court located in North Carolina unless a controlling law requires another forum.

If One Term Fails

If a court finds one part invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. The affected language should be narrowed only as much as needed to make it valid.

Questions About Use

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contacts page. Questions about a Yancey booking, custody status, or court result must go to the originating office.
